FLYIM

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything people ask about FLYIM.

How are crafts made?

You type a phrase and a language model compiles it into a craft: physics (gravity, thrust, drag, a signature quirk), a small hand-drawn vector portrait, a voice with a few quips and last words, and a roast. Each phrase is compiled once and cached forever, so the same phrase always gives the same craft.

Does everyone fly the same run?

On the daily challenge, yes. The course, hazards, wind, and nightly omen are all derived from the day’s seed, so every player faces the identical valley. That’s what makes the leaderboard fair and lets you race other people’s ghosts on the exact same run.

What are sparks for?

Sparks are the currency. You collect them mid-flight, they bank between runs, and you spend them in the Workshop on power-up upgrades, passive perks, and cosmetics. Holding 40 sparks also buys you a free comeback (the Second Dawn) if you’re hit.

How do the leaderboards work?

When you submit a run, the server re-simulates your entire flight from your recorded inputs and only accepts it if the result matches — so scores are verified, not trusted. There are daily and all-time boards, plus private flock boards you can share with friends.

What’s a ghost?

A ghost is a saved run you can race against. It flies the same seed in lockstep beside you, so you can see in real time whether you’re ahead of or behind the run you’re chasing. Every leaderboard entry and shared link is raceable.

Do I need an account?

No. There are no logins. Your progress (sparks, levels, settings) lives in your browser, and your runs are tied to an anonymous identifier so they can appear on leaderboards under the initials you pick.

Is it free?

Yes, FLYIM is free to play in any browser, and it installs as an app on phones. It is also available on Google Play.

What’s the goal — is there an ending?

Every run ends at dawn, about two and a half minutes in. The deep goal is to reach 2,000 meters before then and earn the Breach, the golden ending. Beyond that there’s a sixteen-level campaign, nightly bounties, and per-craft mastery to chase.

What about my privacy?

FLYIM collects no personal information — no name, no email, no contacts. Phrases you type are sent to an AI service to generate your craft, and gameplay is tied only to an anonymous identifier. Full details are in the privacy policy.
